Designed by HBBH to be a lasting legacy from the 2010 Olympic Games, the athletic centre will be a Certified LEEDŽ Gold project, including energy from a nearby sewage treatment plant to provide heating and cooling for the building; use of local materials; natural ventilation; radiant heating and cooling; on-site stormwater management. Offsite prefabrication methods were used in construction to produce high-quality results within tight time and budget constraints.
