Kate Gerson B.A., B.E.D.S., B.Arch
Kate Gerson has been a registered professional with the Architectural Institute of BC since 1982. Her education includes University of British Columbia (B.A.), Nova Scotia Technical College (B.E.D.S.) and Nova Scotia Technical College (B.Arch.). Kate joined Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden architects + urbanistes in 1992.
As an associate with the firm, Kate’s extensive knowledge working on multi-faceted municipal, arts and educational projects, such as Richmond City Hall, Burnaby Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and UBC Scarfe Building has led to many award winning designs for Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden architects + urbanistes. She has steered many complex and multi-headed teams through the design process, allowing for input from key stakeholders and successful project outcomes.
Kate’s skill at creating both aesthetically beautiful and functional design for exterior and interior spaces is showcased in such additional projects as the Montebello Townhouses in Whistler, Kelowna’s Rotary Centre for the Arts and the ICICS Lecture Pavilion at UBC. She is currently leading the work for the redesign of the CBC Regional Headquarters in Vancouver.
Kate participates in mentoring architectural interns, sharing her knowledge and experience with aspiring architects and serves on the Buildings and Grounds Committee for the Unitarian Church.
