| January 15, 2008: Vancouver, BC, Canada – Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden architects + urbanistes (HBBH) launches fresh new web site in celebration of 35 years in business. The launch comes with a challenge to the community to get to know their city better.
“It is an amazing accomplishment to look around the community, after three decades in this industry, and see the mark our firm has made on its’ landscape,” says Principal Norman Hotson. “We thought it would be interesting to see how well our work is known by the public.” With this thought in mind, the Firm has issued a friendly challenge to individuals who will view their new web site, which launches today. Interested parties can log onto the site (www.hbbharc.com) and complete The HBBH Challenge, which will reveal to them how well they know the architecture that surrounds them every day.
The historic redevelopment of Granville Island is bound to be included. “When we designed the master plan for Granville Island in the 1970’s, we changed the face of Vancouver’s waterfront and helped place the city on the world stage as an example of sustainable, mixed-use, waterfront success”, says Joost Bakker, Principal and Co-author of the Granville Island project. The Firm hasn’t looked back since. With a repertoire of projects ranging from waterfront and mixed-use urban developments, cultural centres, university campuses and entire new communities, Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden has a vast portfolio that is sure to impress the masses.
The new web site captures the essence of the firm’s work and its talented professional team. “We’re extremely proud of the site and feel it represents the diversity of our project history,” says Bakker. “We hope the public will enjoy it as much as we do.”
