Alan Boniface MAIBC, MRAIC
Alan Boniface graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1989, with a bachelor of Architecture (Honours) (AIA Gold medal). He was immediately employed by Patkau Architects and worked there until joining Christopher Bozyk Architects, where he was an Associate until 2001.
Alan has a wide variety of experience ranging from single-family homes to large commercial buildings and master plans. Alan has a particular reputation for handling complex design and planning issues synthesizing these with community demands. His experience in retail, residential and office projects is extensive, and has also facilitated many good working relationships with industry leaders and jurisdictional authorities. Alan has been responsible for design work on the CBC Regional Headquarters, various mixed-use residential towers in Vancouver and China and is currently designing community master plans in Portland, Los Angeles, Bowen Island and Fraser Mills in Coquitlam.
Alan’s entrepreneurial abilities have led him to participate in many local business organizations and afforded him a unique perspective on the demands and economics of the construction industry. He is currently Chair of the Vancouver City Planning Commission, Chair of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Real Estate & Development Committee and a Member of the Bowen Island Sustainability Working Group.
